Ladies, can we get real for a minute? Bodies change. Sizes change. And sometimes, insecurities try to steal our joy.
Recently, Wendy and Lindsay shared an honest moment at The Pink Doxie. After hearing so many women pick themselves apart, they realized they had begun doing the very same thing.
That conversation led to a reminder every woman deserves to hear:
You are so much more than the number on your clothing tag or the number on the scale.
When Did a Number Become Our Identity?
As women, it can feel almost natural to measure ourselves by numbers.
The size on a pair of jeans.
The number on the scale.
Our age.
The years that have passed.
The goals we haven’t reached yet.
Somewhere along the way, those numbers can begin to feel like definitions. We allow them to determine whether we feel beautiful, whether we deserve to wear something we love, or whether we are allowed to feel confident in the season we’re in.
But a number can never tell the whole story of a woman.
It cannot measure the strength it took to walk through a difficult season. It cannot count the people you have loved, the burdens you have carried, or the countless ways you have shown up for your family. It cannot see your kindness, your resilience, your faith, or the light you bring into a room.
Most importantly, it cannot define how God sees you.
Beautifully and Wonderfully Made
You are beautifully and wonderfully made.
You are exactly who you are supposed to be, and you are worthy of love right where you are in your journey. You do not have to lose weight, fit into a smaller size, reach a certain age, or become a different version of yourself before you are allowed to feel beautiful.
Your body has carried you through life. It has changed as you have grown, loved, worked, celebrated, grieved, healed, and begun again. It deserves kindness—not constant criticism.
That doesn’t mean you cannot have goals or want to make changes. It simply means you can pursue those goals while still loving the woman you are today.
Give Yourself a Little Grace
Being a woman is beautiful, but it can also be hard.
We are mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, friends, caregivers, business owners, encouragers, and problem-solvers. We spend so much time taking care of everyone around us that we sometimes forget to extend that same tenderness to ourselves.
So today, cut yourself some slack.
Speak to yourself the way you would speak to your best friend. Celebrate what your body can do. Wear the outfit that makes you smile. Stop waiting for a “someday” version of yourself to enjoy the life you have been given today.
You do not need permission from a tag, a scale, or anyone else to feel beautiful.
Walk Through Our Doors and Feel Loved
At The Pink Doxie, we want you to be able to put the numbers aside.
When you walk through our doors, we want you to feel comfortable, accepted, and genuinely loved. We want shopping to feel joyful—not intimidating. Whether you need help finding a flattering fit, encouragement to try something new, or simply someone to remind you how beautiful you are, we are here.
We will be your hype girls until you learn to become your own.
And Wendy and Lindsay made another important promise: while they encourage other women to stop picking themselves apart, they are going to practice offering that same grace to themselves.
Because none of us have this completely figured out. We are all learning together.
Just Be You
Today, let go of the number.
Choose clothing based on how it makes you feel, not what the tag says. Dress beautifully for yourself. Stand a little taller. Smile at the woman in the mirror and remember everything she has overcome.
You are beautiful.
You are special.
You are loved.
You are wonderfully made.
And you are already enough.
Come see us at The Pink Doxie in Cleveland, Tennessee, and let us help you find something that makes you feel as beautiful on the outside as you truly are on the inside.
Beautifully Southern, Confidently You.
